Part III: Over the Pyrenees, Into the Heat

There is a specific moment on the descent out of the Pyrenees where the air changes temperature faster than you can adjust for it. You go from layering up at a col to sweating inside a textile jacket in under forty minutes, and there is nowhere sensible to stop and fix it.

Spain announces itself before the sign does. The roofs, the light, the way the road surface improves and the signage gets worse.
